So yesterday , it was beyond hot ! the humidity made it so much worse too . i don't know how i'm gonna make it all summer in this heat ! outside all day everyday ! i literally can't take the heat ! ;) lol but my day was still good :) me ad my group went for a walk to a nearby park in the morning and played games . we came back with enough time to chill for a bit and then have lunch ! after lunch , everyday we get to go swimming !! its like , my favorite part of the day , just getting to cool off from all the heat . so we swam and played at the park for the last 2 hours . at 3 , when all the kids go home , i haveta stay for another hour with the day care for the kids that aren't getting picked up right away , so we stayed outside and the kids did face paint and played more games . it was so nice to finally go home , after being outside all day !! i was gonna go for another swim when i got home , but once i sat down , i didn't wanna get back up !! this job is going to tire me out fast !
we had dinner as a family last night , alex manon caroline and me :) its nice to have family dinners just like i do at home ; the only difference though is that i don't quite understand the conversation lol i'm starting to pick up on a few things though .
it was still super hot by the time i was going to bed , so it was a bit of an uncomfortable sleep lol way too hot !!
today , i'd say has been the best out of the 3 for working so far !! :) i'm starting to understand alot more words and can pick up on the just of the conversation . it was "circus day" today at camp , so all the leaders dressed up as circus characters , and all the kids rotated from station to station playing different games related to the circus . so i helped out with one of the leaders at her station ( y ) we did that all this morning , and then had lunch at regular time , and swam and played at the park again . it's looking like everyday from lunch on , its gonna be the same , swimming and the park until 3 . so i'm looking forward to a swim everyday !! lol i worked til 3:30 today , so i stayed with the day care for a bit . i went to sit with a little girl , and we had a small conversation but it was cool , cause i actually understood most of what she was saying ! lol the french here is way different then the french we learn in school ; after all the slang is added in , and they talk so fast its hard to understand . i guess it would be the same for the quebec kids in ontario lol
anyway , i think im gonna go for a swim before dinner , and miniput !! but i might add another little blurb later after i get home from miniput . :)

So far ...
So , i think im staring to fall into french mode , as i just about started typing up this post in french ! :/ lol c'est bon !!
As i missed yesterday , this will be a mix of both days . yesterday and today ! We had our welcome bbq yesterday ! it was funn , being able to spend time with the rest of the group ( y ) we had the bbq at my house , so i got to show Shanna my room lol we also met valerie for the first time , and it looks like its gonna be a fun 6 weeks ! we got our schedules as to what we're gonna be doing every weeknight and weekend , and im pretty excited for like , all of it !! Here is everything that we're gonna be doing :
july 7, wednesday night - miniputting
july 10, saturday - treetop trekking !
july 11, sunday- amazing race ! , but i dont know where it is , in the city i think .. !
july 15, thursday night- Cirque Eloize , the circus
july 17, saturday- La Ronde , i dont know what that is , but you could ask Gabriel or Catherine lol , and then we're having a bon fire that night , and possibly a campy out .. ? ( y )
july 18, sunday- Laser Quest , laser tag lol , and spending the day in Montreal !
july 22, thursday night- Just for Laughs festival
july 24-25- family weekend , not sure as to what we're doing yet :)
july 28, thursday night- Impact de Montreal , again i dont know what that is .. ask Gabriel or Catherine lol
july 31, saturday- volunteer carwash !! lol
august 1, sunday- kayaking !
august 4, wednesday night- cafe ceramic .. dunno what it is .
august 5, thursday night- cine-parc , i think its something like a drive in , or a movie screen in a park , should be cool :)
august 7-8- Quebec city and Old Quebec city for the weekend !! we're also going to Valcartier too .
august 12, thursday night- a goodbye cruise , and a surprise for us !! :o lol
august 14, saturday- COMING HOME !! :)
so , we're booked for some pretty funn stuff , im especially excited for quebec city , as mom has said its amazing :)
and im loving having skype too !! i've talked to sheldon twice now , and i talked to sarah and gabriel and catherine last night too :)
so today , i had my first day of work . im working at a day camp with ben , the only guy in our group lol . the first day was pretty good , so hot though !! im working as an assistant leader , so im with a group of kids , they're like 5-6 year olds i think :) and my leader that im working with is Demi-Lune ( that means half moon ) lol all the leaders have camp names , instead of their real names . so i spent a hot day outside today , a good day though . i loved hearing all the kids speak french , some of them were even speaking a bit of english to me ! lol it was good . there are a few kids that are bilingual ( y ) after a while , i'll be able to understand them , cause now its a bit difficult . but i think after a while everything will get better lol
with the camp we get to go on excursions , so once a week i go with all the kids and the leaders and we're gonna go to places like a science centre , a ranch , laser tag again lol , and they're going treetop trekking too , but its this week and ben and i arent going cause its out first week working . but thats okaayy . so yeahh , it should be loads of funn :) i start every morning at either 8:30 or 9:00 , its varies . and my days will end at 3:30 or 4:00 .
i dont know what we're going to do tonight , i know we're having chicken for dinner and a salad . but im not sure what we'll do after . i might go for a swim soon , as its currently 33 degrees outside !! oh boy ! so , that pretty much sums up my last two days , hopefully i dont fall behind again !! :) i miss you all tons , and wanna talk to everyone while im here :)

Day 1 - Off to Quebec!
After a long day of traveling -- to the train station , and then to Quebec on the train , and then waiting to go to my house -- I'm sitting in bed exhausted !! It's been a long day , one with tears , hugs , kisses , and laughs . Riding the train with Shanna was definitely the days highlight , the whole 6 hours of it !! It was worth the wait ! We got through 2 boxes of mike and ikes , a bag of chips , 2 water bottles , a couple fruit to go's , some licorice , a movie , and a little facebook creeping . Oh , and a nap :$ lol .
I finally started feelin nervous when we got closer to Montreal , the fear of the unknown started to hit me . After our long train ride , the 7 of us from Barrie stayed in a group going through the train station . As all the other regions from Ontario grouped off as well , they got their coordinators . But we didn't get ours at all . Apparently Valerie was on a plane coming to Montreal :s so we got to wait that much longer than everyone else until we were given an extra coordinator . We spent 2 hours in the train station from after we got off the train until wwe finally left ; it made our day so much longer !! But we all finally got paired off into our families and left separately .
It didn't take long for me to get to my host families house from the train station , 20 mins maybee . The pictures from Gabriels portfolio definitely looked different than the real thing !! But their house is so cute , and I have a room all to myself , with a nice double bed ! ;) I had dinner with the family - the WHOLE family !! This included Gabriel's parents , Alex and Manon , his twin sister Caroline , his other 2 sisters , Vanessa and Anne-Marie , and both their boyfriends . It was a full table ! After dinner , we all went outside to sit by the fire , but we each started heading off to bed soon after .
So far , everything is a bit overwhelming . They speak so fast it makes it harder to understand , it might turn out to be a long 6 weeks lol .
So I hope my phone bill doesn't turn out to be that bad this summer mom and dad , cause I'm gonna be doing alot of calling to everyone :) Love you and miss you all already !!

Off for the summer!
So , as I am away for the summer to Quebec , I thought it wold be a good idea to keep a blog of my memories !! I would love for everyone to be able to keep up with me , and read about my everyday experiences during my time in Quebec , as I may not be able to keep in touch with everyone all the time . I'm going to try my best to post something everyday so nothing gets left out , but as you already may know , my days are going to be extremely busy , and I may be too tired some nights lol but I will for sure try to add in all the best details !! :)
